I enrolled in a painting course because I missed the energy in the Visual Arts classroom; working individually and as a group, discussing/critiquing our work, and learning from/teaching each other through our different perspectives. I had forgotten how inspiring the process can be. At AnnMarie Garden’s Studio School in the fall of 2015 I taught acrylic painting and a beginner’s drawing course. This allowed me to realize how much I appreciate passing on what I have learned. Learning about the arts is valuable because of the critical thinking we experience when creating (exploring personal convictions and evaluating ourselves). This appreciation and enthusiasm will find its way into my classroom and encourage more interest from students.

Current goals:

   - Begin teaching the Visual Arts

   - Continue to develop my personal artwork into a more refined
      and higher level of expression

   - Learn the art of teaching and inspire students to follow their
      artistic talents
